We are pleased to announce another important step on our journey. The parent company of OFS, Furukawa Electric Group, has approved the integration of its fiber optics, cables, and connectivity solutions operations on a global scale to improve synergy and collaboration and better serve customer and market demands. The key focus of this integration is to enhance the synergy and collaboration of our various global technologies and businesses so that we may better meet the needs of our customers and markets that are growing more complex, with agility and a customized and innovative portfolio for each region of the world. For this initiative, the Furukawa Electric Group will establish a holding company to oversee the current businesses of OFS and FEL, along with their numerous subsidiaries. This holding company will manage business units in the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia, bringing the Group closer to customers and facilitating global operations with a local presence.
In the initial phase, multiple businesses will be merged, and starting from April 1st, 2025, a new subsidiary of Furukawa Electric Co. will commence operations under a new brand and identity, which will be announced shortly. These changes are intended to consolidate the extensive experience of the Furukawa Electric Group over its 140 years, emphasizing technology, innovation, ethics, and customer value in a diverse and dynamic environment.
